Chinmaya Mission-Sikkim Centre has launched its first set of mini football team comprising of young kids drawn from Yuvaveer groups of the Mission.
Present during the unveiling of the team at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok on Sunday were State Transport secretary S.D. Dhakal, Sports joint director Ram Bahadur Bishwakarma, Chinmaya Mission general secretary S.K. Sarda, and students of Bal Vihar groups and their parents.
Later, the team visited MG Marg and offered khadas on the bust of Mahatma Gandhi and sang national anthem.
“The youth of today have lot of potential that is untapped. Chinmaya Yuva Kendra is committed to channelizing this energy in the right direction using the principles of spirituality,” the Chinmaya Mission-Sikkim Centre said in a press release.
