Oath taking ceremony of Marwari Yuva Manch, Prerna branch

The oath taking ceremony of the newly-elected executive members of Marwari Yuva Manch, Gangtok and Prerna Manch, a women’s wing of the Manch, was held in Gangtok today.
Ajay Agarwal, for the second consecutive time, took oath as the president of the Gangtok Marwari Yuva Manch, Nimesh Lokatia as the secretary and Hemant Agarwal as the treasurer.  Marwari Yuva Manch was established in 2013 and today’s event marked seventh oath taking ceremony.
Prerna branch established by the Marwari community women also had fourth oath taking ceremony. Amita Mundra is the president of the Prena Shakha, Nania Khatra is the secretary and Kiran Daga is the treasurer.
Both the Manchs work towards the betterment of the society and serve the people.
One of the major works undertaken by the Marwari Yuva Manch was installing lights at the Ranipool cremation ground, which proved to be very helpful. The Prena Shakha is known for installing water filters and distributing sanitary facilities to the needy.
During the event, Ajay Agarwal, a Gangtok-based journalist was felicitated by Marwari Yuva Manch.  
Ajay Agarwal has been selected as this year’s recipient of the ‘Excellence in Journalism’ award constituted in memory of Late Ram Patro, the founding editor of SIKKIM EXPRESS and Himali Bela daily newspapers.
Bipul Sharma, the State president of PBSPMYM was present at the ceremony as the chief guest.
