In the digital era, rapid development of technology like Augmented Reality (AR) has influenced its inevitable entrance in the learning process. Augmented Reality is an emerging field of technology where real life is modified and enhanced by computer-generated sights and sounds. The use of augmented reality in education is an important topic of research. Since students have access to lots of information, traditional lectures are just not enough for fostering their motivation and curiosity. If you want to introduce fun element to learning, here are some mobile apps that makes learning effective and interesting:
1. SightSpace Pro
SightSpace Pro is a free app that permits users to see their digital design and models in the form of real-life buildings – during construction and even before anything has been built. It integrates seamlessly with the most popular modeling and design file formats. This app is very much useful in architecture, civil engineering, and interior design courses and professions.
2. Augment Education
Augment is a free app having specialization in AR presentations, 3D design, and modeling projects. Using this app instructor can demonstrate lesson concepts in 3D, while learners can develop their own 3D models for many courses including animation, architecture, art and health.  
3. Sky Map
Sky Map is a free specialized app for learning about the astronomy and solar system. It is a hand-held planetarium for android device having a compass. Learners point their devices towards sky and app identifies stars, planets, nebulae, constellation and many more using compass as an orientation.  
4. Human Anatomy Atlas
This app is not free and only available for iOS devices. It is a great app to see inside and better understanding of human body including muscle composition, major organ systems, and skeletal structure. It provides thousands of 3D models of human body to help understand and communicate how the human body looks and works. It includes textbook-level definitions and supports multiple language settings.
5. GeoGoggle
GeoGoggle is a free app developed for android. It is a fantastic app for acquiring geography skills. It is a tool to check your location, view direction (compass), find speed of movement, and determine distances to particular destinations.  It also permits to calculate altitude and the distance between two points using a 3D compass.
6. Spacecraft 3D
NASA’s Spacecraft 3D is an app that facilitates user to learn about interactions - a variety of spacecraft have with our solar systems and universe. Using device camera, user scans printed AR targets, and closely observes and analyses different spacecraft. User can explore the robots and observe how they move, how they work, and learn the engineering feats used, to expand the knowledge and understanding of space.
Technology supported learning has become an essential part of lives of every learner and instructor. In addition to multimedia technologies, the recent advancements in teaching – learning domain come in the form of AR tools. These apps permit learners to look and feel of real-life situations and make learning more effective and interesting.
