RANGPO,: Though the blockage at Sethi Jhora, which snapped traffic for few days, was cleared today, people taking the NH10 had to face the brunt of some major and minor landslides triggered by rains along the highway today.
Landslides took place at Rangpo, West Bengal and Martam today morning resulting in huge traffic snarls. Although the road at Rangpo was cleared within an hour, at Martam, the road remained blocked throughout the day and the vehicles had to take a detour via Sang Martam.
The authorities had engaged an excavator and labourers for clear-up work however the traffic was opened only in evening as the active mudslides delayed the clear-up process.
A passenger taxi was also damaged at Martam by the falling boulders.
