International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD)deputy director generalEklabya Sharma called on Chief Minister P.S. Tamang (Golay) in his office at Tashilingsecretariat this afternoon.
During the call on, the deputy director general extended the invitation for Partner’s Day celebration which is being jointly organised by Centre and Stategovernments along with ICIMOD on September 14 here in the State capital.
The Chief Minister gave his consent and agreed to attend the occasion as the chief guest and also to release the Hindu Kush Himalayan assessment report published by global publishing house from Switzerland Springer Nature, an IPR release informs.
The Partner’s Day function will also see the participation of the Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change ministry secretary.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that representatives from 20 donor countries and organisations along with the participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, and Nepal will be participating in the function.
ICIMOD is an organisation with a group of 8 Hindu Kush Himalayan countries. The Centre was established in the year 1983 with an objective of regional cooperation amongst the 8 countries for sustainable mountain development.
Sharma also presented a book titled KailashYatra(the works on environment and culture) to the Chief Minister.
