All 14 candidates clear scrutiny for Martam-Rumtek & Gangtok seats

The scrutiny of nominations for bye-election in east district was held today in the office of Returning Officer (East) Raj Yadav in the presence of General Observer.
A total of 14 nominations for two Assembly constituencies were scrutinized and all nomination papers were found to be valid with no rejection, informs an IPR release.
Martam-Rumtek has eight candidates – Nuk Tshering Bhutia (SDF), Sonam Tshering Venchungpa (BJP), Mingma Tshering Sherpa (SRP), Nima Lepcha (HSP), Passang G. Sherpa (independent), Sonam Tashi Bhutia (independent), Mechung Bhutia (independent) and Chewang Dadul Bhutia (independent).
Similarly, Gangtok has six candidates. They are Delay Namgyal Barfungpa (SNPP), Yong Tshering Lepcha (BJP), Rinzing Ongmu Bhutia (SDF), Song Tshering Lepcha (SRP), Bhaichung Bhutia (HSP) and Karma Yenthen Chankapa (independent).
The last date of withdrawal of candidature is on October 3 from 11 am to 3 pm. Symbol allotment for the independent candidates will take place after that, the release mentions.
