Two independents withdraw from Martam Rumtek

GANGTOK (IPR): On the last day of withdrawal of candidatures for the bye-election in two Assembly constituencies in East district, two candidates withdrew their nominations.
Sonam Tashi Bhutia and Chewang Dadul Bhutia who filed their nomination as independent candidates for Martam Rumtek constituency withdrew their candidature today in the office of Returning Officer Raj Yadav.
The Returning Officer informed that six candidates were in the fray for Martam-Rumtek Assembly constituency after the withdrawal of the two candidates.
The candidates for Gangtok Assembly constituency are six nominations and no withdrawal.
A meeting of the Returning Officer with the contesting candidates has been scheduled on October 4.  
The Expenditure Observer Naresh Kumar Bansal arrived at Gangtok today. Anyone interested to meet the expenditure observer may meet him at Railway Guest House from 9 AM to 11 AM.
