Budang –A Famous Village Tourism Destination of Sikkim

The Budang Village in CentralPendam, East Sikkim, located at 27.2188N — 88.5433°E is a place surrounded by natural beauty. It is mainly famous for its organic farming. It attracts people from many different places. Annually many people visit this place to enjoy the natural beauty of the place. Its wildlife, vegetation and cultivation are three main features which mainly attracts people.

Being a rural area, it is ahamlet of 55–60 houses and approximately 300 people living in it. People of different cast and religion live in the same area and support each other when they are in need of help. Here, most of the people are mainly educated about crops, plants, natural vegetation, poisonous plants, domestic animals, soil, and cultivation. Main source of income of the people is dairy farming and organic vegetables.

There are many places which people can explore. Dhap(Dry Lake) one of the best place where people visit. Mainly during festivals like Ram Nawami and many other main festivals of all religion are celebrated here.  There is the Gari Fort where people go to enjoy and many other festival are also celebrated at the Gari Fort. Jhandi Dara where people mainly go for tracking.

     There are many seasonal flowers, vegetables and crops. Cherry are mostly found in the month of January to February. Rhododendron is found in the month of March and April. June to August that is a nice season of flowers and from September to December  Here Different Type  of  orchid is Also Seen , Maize  is mostly during the month of March till the month of April .

     Many types of animals like domestic animals. For example, mainly cows of different breeds are found here the number of dogs and cats are also high, and only few people have goats and pigs. That are Wild animals for example rabbit, dear, porcupine etc.

  There are many types of birds found here such as sparrows, doves, swallows, eagles and pheasants. The nearby forest is the best place for bird watcher.

The air round here is less populated and fresh. There is greenery everywhere amidst a peaceful ambiance. Compared to the towns and cities we have more area of useful lands. The main reason behind the fresh air, beautiful birds and animals are the trees. Due to more numbers of trees it’s a home for birds and animals. Trees are very high in numbers. Many trees are found here such as Alnus Nepalese, Rhododendron Arbacium,  RhododendronFalconic, MicheliaChampaka, Castranopsis Species, FicusEstilica, CryptomeriaJapanica and EliocrapusSikkiminasis.These trees make our place more beautiful. The weather is suitable for Apple. Here, the weather condition is balanced. During the summer season in the months of March and April the temperature rises up to maximum of about 28°C. From May till the September we have the monsoon season the temperature remains at15°C–20°C. In monsoon season numerous waterfalls are seen in the area. October to February have the winter season and it's very cold. In 2019 maximum fall off the temperature was recorded up to –2°C.

     In this village respecting each other is very important. People are united and support each other in keeping the village clean and free of pollution.
