Essential commodities at doorsteps of contained Pakyong residents


PAKYONG,: People in containment zone at Pakyong Bazaar have started getting essentials commodities like vegetables, rice and other things at their doorsteps.
Grocer D.B. Rana, who is supplying essential commodities to people at Pakyong starting from Police Station to Puspanjali School area, said: “I have started delivering essentials commodities to people who are Covid patients, their families and other public at their doorsteps after they order things over phone. There will be no extra charges for delivery”.
Pakyong Bazaar is under containment since July 14 following an outbreak of Covid cases.
Rana has been deputed by the authorities to deliver essential commodities to people in need at their doorsteps. He started delivering the essential commodities at the doorsteps of local public from today onwards.
Similarly, other four grocers at Pakyong Bazaar are given responsibility to deliver food items to public in similar ways by demarcating their respective areas. The grocery items are provided by five grocers including Rana by dividing Pakyong town area into five zones.
Similarly, vegetables are being supplied to the public by SIMFED in the contained area. People are strictly monitored to buy things by maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks.
