Falcon FC wins Yuksam futsal tournament


GEYZING,: Falcon FC defeated a Sikkim police team 3-0 on Thursday to win the Gold Cup futsal tournament at Yuksam, West Sikkim.
Area MLA and SLA deputy Speaker Sangay Lepcha, who was present as the chief guest, handed over trophies and certificates to the winners and runners up.
Ronald Rai from Falcon FC was adjudged player of the match.
The tournament organised by Yuksam Friends Forever Sporting Club had participation of 45 teams from across the State.
The deputy Speaker congratulated the Yuksam Friends Forever SC for organizing the tournament successfully and highlighted the various advantages of the sports. He highlighted the various initiatives taken by the State government which would take Sikkim into new heights. He urged all to take benefit of the government initiatives and work towards making the dream of the government a reality.
Yuksam Friends Forever president Sonam Chewang Bhutia said the tournament received overwhelming response and informed that they will organise the tournament annually.
On the occasion, the organising committee felicitated several young achievers in different fields. Area MLA Sangay Lepcha was also felicitated for his untiring services to people of the Yuksam-Tashiding constituency. The event also saw the felicitation of Transport department chairman and CLC president Basant Tamang.
