GANGTOK: Continuing with his series of engagements in New Delhi, Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad today called on Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu at his office and extended invitation to him to visit Sikkim.
A Raj Bhawan press release informs that the Vice President expressed his pleasure to receive the invitation and conveyed his desire to visit the State at the earliest possible date.
Later on the day, the Governor called on Union Home minister Amit Shah and apprised him of the issues and concerns of Sikkim. He also sought Union minister’s personal intervention towards resolving several pending issues.
Late evening on Monday, the Governor made a courtesy call on Defence minister Rajnath Singh at his office in South Block, New Delhi. Several security and border related issues were discussed during a brief meeting, the release mentions.
