Guv, CM greet on SonamLochhar

GANGTOK: On the auspicious occasion of SonamLochhar, Governor Ganga Prasad has extended warm greetings and good wishes to the people of Sikkim.
In his message, the Governor said, “The festival of SonamLochhar celebrated by our Tamang brethren reaffirms our faith in almighty as we worship and offer fresh harvests seeking protection and safety of our fellow beings. This occasion also marks the New Year symbolising new hope and beginning.
May this propitious occasion bring prosperity, harmony and happiness to all Sikkimese.”
Likewise, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) has also extended his SonamLochhargreetings.
“Sikkim is the land of varied ethnicities and tribal groups, with the Tamang community spread out widely. SonamLochhar, also spelled as SonamLhosar, is the most significant and extravagant festival of this culturally rich community and is celebrated with great fanfare and zeal,” the Chief Minister said.
In his greetings, the Chief Minister has wished peace, prosperity, and happiness to the people of Sikkim.
