Addressing media, Kalyan Chaubey appreciated SFA for carrying out such grassroots activities for the development of football. “It is observed that the interest in football in the State is really high and the youth of hilly terrain are best as their lower portion of the body like legs and thigh muscles are strong and they only need to concentrate on improving their basic skills.”
SFA president Menla Ethenpa said the AIFF executive body during their historic visit to Sikkim will also hold executive body meeting in Gangtok.
Ethenpa said the Golden Baby League has participation of more than 200 children. “I on behalf of SFA would like to express my sincere gratitude towards TNA principal and faculty members and the Golden Baby League organiser 'Khelum' for organising such wonderful league. The objective of holding such leagues is to identify the best players so that they can be groomed into professional footballers in future.”
Rohan Pradhan, director of 'Khelum' organisation under which the grassroots football programme operates, along with co-director Samuel Khaiba informed that the organisation started operating the grassroots football school since December, 2021. They informed that it is for the first time the Golden Baby League is being held in the State. The league is an AIFF-affiliated event.
