MG Margduo wins Times Food Award


GANGTOK: Of all the businesses, perhaps food business stands at the pinnacle of being never out of business. Sikkim has seen its own surge in the industry with every alternative space in MG Marg growing as a food joint. Adding feather on a similar note are two brothers from MG Marg, SwarajSinghi and AkshaySinghi were recently awarded the Times Food Award for best North Indian casual dining for their one-of-a-kind gastronomy vegetarian restaurant Masala Ministryin Jaipur. The event at Crowne Plaza in Jaipur on January 12, termed as the Food Oscars had over 30 categories with a winner for each.
Established in 2017, the modern vegetarian restaurant strongly focuses on quality ingredients, presentation and immaculate services. "We at MM, not only emphasize on high-quality food, service and experience, but also on customised menus, chef-customer interactions and more. MM has introduced several new techniques and concepts in Jaipur market with respect to its creative amalgamation of palatable food and its unique presentation. The idea is to give our customers an experiential dining", added the brother duo.
Swaraj (31) and Akshay (27) have been in the restaurant industry for the past seven years. They started out in 2013, and have owned 16 night-life places in-and-around Delhi. They also had restaurants ranging from fine dine, nightlife, pubs to cafes. They are still part of the renowned Unplugged Courtyard at Connaught Place, New Delhi.
“The award has been a motivation for us, as Times Food award is one of the best awards of the nation. It is an achievement for us,” expressed brother-duo Swaraj and Akshay.Masala Ministry has earlier received Jaipur Mag Award in 2018.The brothers are looking to openfive new Masala Ministry outlets inSurat, Ahmedabad, Indore, Ludhiana and Agra.
"We want to make Masala Ministry a franchise. We are looking forward to collaborate with more people, especially in our hometown Sikkim. We have also kept in mind to hire staffs from our region. We currently have 112 staffs from Sikkim and neighbouring areas of West Bengal. Have our people around makes us feel at home", the duo added.
