Namchi water supply pipelines restored

NAMCHI, (IPR): The water supply pipelines to Namchi which had been damaged recently at Rabongla Byepass due to landslide were successfully restored today.
Public Health Engineering department chairman Hari Narayan Subedi accompanied by Skill Development department advisor Satish Chandra Rai, Chief Minister’s additional political secretary (South) Anjeeta Rajalim, Namchi Municipal Council chairman Ganesh Rai along with local gentry were present during the restoration process.
Present amongst others were PHE DE N.T. Bhutia, AE Sonam Karthak and other concerned officials alongside stakeholders of NHIDCL and contractors.
The team inspected the site of landslide which had caused disruption to water supply and assessed the measures taken by the department for restoring the water pipelines.
The PHE chairman extended gratitude towards the pace of work being carried by the stakeholder for swift restoration of water supply pipelines.
It maybe mentioned here that a permanent water pipeline will be laid down after monsoon.
During the process, they also visited the perennial water sources and water reservoirs located in and around Rabongla. Further, they toured water treatment plant at Damthang and water reservoir at Namchi to enquire about water stored for the use of public and its distribution process.
