SDF postpones party activities

GANGTOK,: Opposition SDF has postponed all its party meetings and social tour of its party president for some time considering the Covid surge in Sikkim.
“People are alarmed over the unprecedented spread of corona pandemic in Sikkim at present. As people are feeling unsafe, the SDF party has postponed for some time all its party meetings, social tour of party president and all activities that can gather a crowd,” said the SDF in a press statement on Friday.
The decision was taken in the interest of public and their safety from the pandemic, said the SDF.
“The State government has issued several guidelines to stay safe from Covid. It is the responsibility of all political parties, organisations and common citizens. The SDF appeals all to act as responsible citizens and help to prevent the spread of this pandemic,” said the SDF.
