Several Geyzing shops found running on sublet license

GANGTOK,: As directed by DC (west) Karma R. Bonpo, a surprise raid was conducted by three teams in Geyzing town regarding sub-letting of trade licenses. The teams were headed by ADC (west) Agawane Rohan Ramesh, Geyzing SDM Tshering Topgay Bhutia, SDM (headquarters) Anant Jain, Geyzing SDPO Santosh Baniya, Geyzing MEO Bhumika Pradhan and Geyzing Nagar Panchayat officials.
A press release today informs that the raid was to ascertain the ground reality of the sublet shops in Geyzing town where the urban local body had pre-identified around 50 locations running on sublet license. During the raid, it was found that several shops were running on sublet license and using bill books without GST.
As informed by the Geyzing SDM, the sublet trade licenses would be dealt with as per law.
