SICA president meets BCCI top brass

GANGTOK,: Newly-elected Sikkim Cricket Association president Tika Subba on Saturday met IPL Governing Council member Avishek Dalmiya at Kolkata and discussed issues pertaining to development of cricket in Sikkim.

The SICA president was accompanied by secretary Rinzing Namgyal Bhutia and selector Karma Thendup.

This was Subba’s first meeting with the BCCI representative to IPL Governing Council after being elected as the president in the recently held Annual General Meeting of SICA.

Subba apprised Dalmiya on the need for additional cricket infrastructures in Sikkim including an extra cricket ground. Sikkim currently has only one standard cricket ground – the Sikkim Cricket Ground at Mining, Rangpo.

Dalmiya responded positively and assured BCCI’s full cooperation and support, informs a SICA release.

“Mr Dalmiya has been a guiding light for all North East cricket bodies in the development of cricket in the North East States and we expect and appreciate his continued support in our endeavor for growth of cricket in the State,” the SICA added.
