Sikkim makes five changes to Ranji squad

GANGTOK: Sikkim Cricket Association has made five changes in the 15-man squad for the remainder of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group clashes.
Chitiz Tamang, Nitesh Kumar Gupta, Padam Bahadur Limboo, Pritam Nirala and Puran Giri have been added to the squad replacing Bhusan Subba
Nilesh Lamichaney, Bijay Kumar Subba, Mandup Bhutia and Faizan Khan for the match against Chandigarh, which starts on Saturday.
SICA had initially named the squad only for their first four matches and were expected to make changes in the second half of the season.
The 2019-20 season, thus far, has been a forgetful one for the Sikkim team. They are winless from their first four games of the season, having lost three and drawn one match. Sikkim suffered heavy defeats in their fixtures against Goa, Puducherry and Nagaland before they drew against Arunachal Pradesh earlier this week.
With three points from four games, Sikkim is currently second from bottom in the 10-team group.   Sikkim will now play Chandigarh at Sector 16 Stadium in Chandigarh and will need a win to keep their campaign alive. Following the Chandigarh tour, they will play Mizoram on January 19, Manipur on January 27, Meghalaya on February 4 and Bihar on February 12.
Squad:  Ashish Thapa, Dinesh Kumar Rai, Palzor Tamang, Bibek Diyali, Jahan-Uddin, Padam Bahadur Limboo, Nitesh Kumar Gupta, Pritam Nirala, Leeyong Lepcha, Chitiz Tamang, Puran Giri, Ruben Lepcha, Yashpal Singh, Iqbal Abdullha, Ishwar Chaudhary
