Siliguri records fourth coronavirus case

SILIGURI: Siliguri has registered four coronavirus positive cases in the past four days with a youth in Matigara testing positive for the infection on Thursday evening. The youth who works in an automobile company near Siliguri had a history of travelling to Assam.
Matigara BDO Runu Roy on Friday visited the residence of the Covid-19 patient in Pratiramjote and the entire area was sanitized. The area was also sealed for the prevention of further spread of the virus.
“We are constantly trying to trace those who had come in contact with the infected person. All such persons would be sent to the quarantine centre,” said Roy.
Meanwhile, five fresh cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported from Islampur region, around 76 km away from Siliguri.
North Dinajpur district CMOH Rabindra Nath Pradhan confirmed about the fresh five Covid-19 positive cases. He informed that the infected people had returned from New Delhi and were working as daily labourers in various areas.
He said separate quarantine centres are made for their family members who had made contact and the patients have been shifted to Raiganj Covid hospital for further treatment.
