South prepares for Covid vaccination of frontliners

GANGTOK,: A coordination meeting was held on Monday at the office of DC (south) M. Bharani Kumar regarding Covid vaccination for the frontline workers.
Kumar chaired the meeting also attended by SP (south) T. Thapa, DRHCO (south) Dr. Junita Yonzon and concerned officials, an IPR release from Namchi informs.
Dr. Yonzon presented the status of Covid vaccination for Health Care Workers (HCWs) in the district. She informed that a total of 1334 HCWs have been vaccinated with the first dose starting from January 19 till date out of the 1596 scheduled and 87 new allotted beneficiaries.
A total of 46 Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) cases was also reported which were all minor. Remaining HCWs who could not be vaccinated will be covered in the sweeping round.
The DRCHO also apprised the house about the vaccination plan for the frontliners which is scheduled to start from February 17. She stated that a total of 1747 frontline workers including revenue officers and police personnel have been registered in the portal.
Further, the DRCHO informed regarding the National Deworming Week to be observed from February 22 to 28.
Deworming tablets will be distributed to the children between the age of 1-19 years and that the tablets will be distributed home to home by ASHAs as well as in schools.
