SPCC wants State to take CAA seriously

GANGTOK,: The Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee (SPCC) has called on the SKM government in the State to take the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) with seriousness and work towards securing the future of Sikkim and Sikkimese people.
The party in its meeting chaired by State president Bharat Basnett here today also expressed that both MPs from Sikkim have made Sikkim’s voice heard in the Parliament against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. Despite the opposition, the Congress maintained that the SKM government mus brace itself to impact of CAA on Sikkim and work in unison to tackle the situation, a SPCC release informs.
The SPCC further demanded that the State government hold a meeting with political parties and apolitical organizations and also a special Assembly session to deliberate on the CAA and its impact on Sikkim.
