SSLA felicitates medal winners

GANGTOK,: Sikkim Strength Lifting Association (SSLA) today felicitated the medal winners of different national and international competitions.
Sikkim registered one of its best medal hauls in recent years, and produced numerous strength lifters.
During a ceremony held at a local hotel here, the association also presented lifetime achievement award to strength lifter Ganesh Kumar Subba for his contribution towards the association and for the promotion of the sport of strength lifting in the State.
Sports & Youth Affairs department advisor Meg Nath Subba congratulated the association and the members for producing national and international level players in such a short span of time.
SSLA president Tenzing D. Denzongpa highlighted how the association has managed to produce more than 300 lifters within a short period of time.
SSLA head coach Pema Dorjee Bhutia said, “We have been able to produce so many national and international lifters from Sikkim due to the hard work of the association and the determination of lifters.”
He thanked the government for providing cash incentives to the lifters, acknowledging their talent and contributions.  
On the occasion, Kiran Rasaily was appointed chief advisor of the SSLA and Allen Targain as working president.
SKM sports wing president Rinzing Wangyal was also present at the function.
