State BJP observes Good Governance Day

GANGTOK,: The State BJP unit on Wednesday observed Good Governance Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of party patriarch and former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. The Day was observed by all constituency level units of the party, a BJP release informs.
State BJP president D.B. Chauhan chaired the celebration at Jitlang under West Pendam constituency along with party functionaries. They paid tributes to late Vajpayee and Chauhan spoke on the life and contributions of the former Prime Minister and the relevance of Good Governance Day.
In Gangtok, east district president Bhanu Bhakta Dahal attended the celebration for six Assembly constituencies of the district at Gangtok. The event was attended by Gangtok MLA Y.T. Lepcha as the chief guest along with party vice-president Jagat Singh Singhi, treasurer G.D. Agarwal and president of all six constituency level party units. The event was attended by president Dahal and MLA Lepcha.
At Chujachen, area MLA K.B. Rai led the celebration at the party office while vice-president Bharat Dulal chaired the function at Rhenock.
Good Governance Day or Su??san Diwas is observed in India annually on December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Vajpayee to honor him by fostering awareness among the Indian people of accountability in government. The birth anniversary of Vajpayee was declared as Good Governance Day by the Modi government in 2014.
