Two Covid patients recover in South

NAMCHI: Two of the nine Covid-19 patients admitted at the isolation centre at Samdruptse here were discharged on Thursday after they tested negative twice for coronavirus. The two female patients, aged 10 and 21 years, are the first to be discharged from the isolation centre.
The remaining seven Covid-19 patients have been shifted to the isolation centre at STNM hospital, Gangtok.
Along with the discharge and shifting of patients, the first batch of 13 staff of the isolation centre was also sent for facility quarantine in and around Namchi. The first batch of 13 staff includes seven IRBn personnel, one doctor, two nurses, two attendant andaSafai Karmachari.
The two patients discharged today had been admitted at the isolation centre on June 24. The Kolkata and Mumbai returnees and were earlier staying in quarantine centres in the district.
While being discharged, the two persons were offered khadas by the district medical staff and South district collector Ragul K. They were briefed by the district collectorand the medical officers on the precautionary measures to be followed after the release.
