In their final Group B game against Alpine Sporting Club, Yuksam Capitals needed to chase 53 to guarantee qualification to the last four, and they sealed that spot inside 11 overs of the chase.
Yuksam Capitals player Shristi Rai said it was a team performance that led to Satruday’s nine-wicket victory over Alpine SC.
After losing their previous game to Group B leaders Aakraman SC, Yuksam Capitals restricted Alpine SC to 53 for seven before rattling off their victory target with more than nine overs to spare.  Yuksam Capitals won the match by nine wickets.
Alpine SC scored 53 for seven after electing to bat. Susan Dhungel top-scored for Alpine SC with 12 runs, while player of the match Sonia Rai impressed with the ball for Yuksam Capitals, taking four wickets for just 12 runs.
Yuksam Capitals chased down the target comfortably with skipper Tshering Ongmu Lepcha leading from the front and making an unbeaten 39 off 37 balls.
“We are very happy with today’s win, especially after losing the previous game. We started the campaign strongly with a convincing win but poor run rate cost us the second match. We are happy to have won today’s match and make a comeback,” Shristi added.
Shristi said they are excited for the semi-finals.
“We put up a good performance today after a disappointing game yesterday and we feel we can make it to the final. We have a great team and supports staff and our supporters have been constantly backing us.”
