11th CM’s Gold Cup: Singling SC defeats Army Red

NAMCHI, (IPR): 11th All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament 2026 progressed into its second day with the successful conduct of the tournament’s second match at Jorethang Football Stadium today.

The occasion was graced by the MLA of Maneybung–Dentam and Advisor to the Tourism & Civil Aviation department Suresh Kumar Subba, as the chief guest. He was accompanied by the Advisor to the State Bank of Sikkim Biren Chandra Rai, as the special guest, along with MLA and Chief Patron of the Maghey Sankranti Mela Madan Cintury.

The match was played between Singling Sports Club (Sikkim) and Army (Red). Displaying a disciplined and determined performance, Singling SC secured a narrow victory with a 1–0 win over Army (Red).

Prashant Chettri of Singling SC was adjudged the Man of the Match for his commendable contribution to the team’s success.

The tournament is being organised by Jorethang Football Association in collaboration with the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Sikkim, Sikkim Football Association, and the organising committee of Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026. All matches are being conducted strictly in accordance with the rules, regulations, and guidelines laid down by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the national governing body for football in India.

The event also witnessed the presence of press secretary to the Chief Minister, Yougan Tamang, president (NJNP) Pavitra Manav, OSD to MLA, Raju Roshan Pradhan, ASP Kesang D Bhutia, BDO Baiguney Pramila Gurung, along with other officers and dignitaries.
