2nd SKM Government completes one year, CM thanks people of Sikkim

GANGTOK, : Chief Minister PS Golay has extended his warmest greetings and heartiest congratulations to everyone on the momentous occasion of the first anniversary of the second term of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party’s governance.

It was on June 10 last year that the second SKM government was formed with Golay, also the SKM president, taking oath as the Chief Minister of Sikkim for a second straight term following a landslide electoral victory in the 2024 Assembly elections.

This milestone is a remarkable testament to the unwavering trust and support of the people, as well as to the visionary and collective leadership that continues to guide our State toward progress, inclusivity, and prosperity, said Golay in his message to the people.

“Today, we commemorate not merely the formation of our government, but the triumph of democracy and the collective aspiration for development. This day stands as a symbol of our enduring commitment to justice, equality, and inclusive governance, a time to reflect on the inspiring journey of the SKM government, to celebrate our achievements, and to draw strength from the lessons we have encountered along the way,” said the Chief Minister.

Golay added that this anniversary also coincides with another historic milestone, Sikkim completing 50 glorious years of Statehood. “Over these five decades, the people of Sikkim have remained steadfast in their dedication to unity, sustainable development, and cultural pride. As we mark this golden jubilee, let us honour the legacy of our forebears and continue to uphold the values that define our identity as proud Sikkimese,” he said.

“Guided by a resolute vision for a brighter Sikkim, we embarked on a transformative journey aimed at reshaping the future of our beloved state. One year on, I am proud to say that we have made significant strides in turning that vision into reality.”

The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Central Government, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for their steadfast support and patronage in times of need, and for their enduring guidance.

“As I look back on our journey, I do so with deep appreciation for the dedication of our team and, most importantly, for the faith and support of the people of Sikkim. There remains much to be accomplished, and we must stay resolute in our commitment to transformative governance and inclusive development,” said Golay.

“On this anniversary, I offer my sincere thanks to all who have contributed to the success of our government and, above all, I thank the people of Sikkim for their continued trust and partnership in this shared journey. Let me reaffirm that our government remains fully committed to the welfare of every citizen and the advancement of every region of our State. Together, let us continue forging ahead, united in purpose, to build a Sunaulo, Sammridha, and Samarth Sikkim”, said the Chief Minister.

Let us also persevere in our collective efforts to ensure a stronger, greener, and more prosperous Sikkim for generations to come, added the Chief Minister.
