GANGTOK,: Gangtok Himalayan SC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Northerners FC while Sikkim Aakraman FC routed Dzongri FC 6-1 in their respective matches on Tuesday at Paljor Stadium during the ongoing SFA-organised A Division S-League 2026.
In the day’s first game, Gangtok Himalayan took an early lead in the 3rd minute against Northerners FC through Thupden Wangchuk Sherpa.Northerners FC responded with a goal from Karma Topden Bhutia in the 17th minute, bringing the score level at 1–1.
Two minutes, Gangtok Himalayan SC retained its lead when Ayush Bist scored the second goal for his team.
Both teams displayed a disciplined and competitive performance throughout the match, creating several opportunities at both ends. However, Gangtok Himalayan SC maintained their advantage until the final whistle.
The day’s second match was between Sikkim Aakraman FC andDzongriFC.
Dzongri FC took the lead in the 32nd minute through Ronald Singh but it was all-round show by Sikkim Aakraman FC then after.
Sikkim Aakraman FC responded strongly, with Karma Thupden scoring in the 43rd and 66th minutes. Prashant Chettri added two more goals in the 44th and 85th minutes, while Boxer Pradhan scored in the 82nd minute and Lakpa Norbu Sherpa completed the scoring in the 87th minute.
Sikkim Aakraman FC maintained control of the match and secured a convincing victory with a final score of 6-1.
The match was witnessed by SFA president MenlaEthenpa along with the executive members.
