Amit Patro honoured as ‘Best Journalist of Sikkim’ at 19th Media Excellence Awards

GANGTOK, : The 19th Media Excellence Awards held on Saturday in New Delhi recognized journalists across the country with SIKKIM EXPRESS editor Amit Patro receiving the award of ‘Best Journalist of Sikkim.’

The honour was presented to Patro by Union Minister of State for Corporation, Highway and Transport Harsh Malhotra, who attended the event as the chief guest.

The ceremony, which celebrated excellence in journalism, also had Dr.Sandeep Marwah, chairman of AAFT University, in attendance as a special guest. The event witnessed the recognition of numerous media professionals including journalists, media educators and officials for their outstanding contributions to the field of journalism. 

Media Federation of India founder and president Arun Sharma, in his welcome address, emphasized the indispensable role that media plays in a democratic society. He commended the media professionals present for their significant efforts to inform and educate the public.

Chief guest Harsh Malhotra congratulated both the organizers and the award recipients for their dedication to excellence in journalism and their efforts to enhance societal awareness through their work.
