GANGTOK,: The Sikkim KrantikariMorcha (SKM) Students Wing held its monthly-cum-annual
review meeting here on Monday, where key discussions were conducted to assess
the progress, activities, and goals of the wing.
The
day also marked a special milestone - the first anniversary of the induction of
the State level executive members, who were appointed in October 2024 under the
leadership and guidance of the SKM president and Chief Minister Prem Singh
Tamang (Golay), a press release informs.
Addressing
the meeting, SKM Students Wing president TsheringWangchuk Lepcha, presented the
annual report, highlighting the achievements and initiatives undertaken by the wing
over the past year. He praised the dedication and teamwork of the executive
members in fulfilling the wing’s objectives and carrying forward the vision of
the party to empower the youth and students of Sikkim.
TsheringWangchukextended
his heartfelt gratitude to MLA and vice president (in-charge), Aditya Golay,
for his consistent support, valuable guidance, and timely intervention in
addressing issues related to students and educational institutions across the State,
the SKM Students Wing release mentions.
Over
the past year, the SKM Students Wing has successfully undertaken several
landmark initiatives under the dynamic leadership Chief Minister Prem Singh
Tamang (Golay).
Notable
among them are:
Sikkim Students Sphere (S³): Sikkim’s first-ever
student-led video podcast, conceptualized and produced by the students
themselves, creating a vibrant platform for the students and by the students.
The show has so far released six successful episodes, covering themes of education,
youth empowerment, mental health, and career development.
1st Sikkim Inter-College Futsal
Tournament 2025:
Organized under the inspiring theme “Getting High on Goals, Not on Drugs,” the
tournament aimed to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among the youth
through sports. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 10 colleges
across the state, and the championship title was won by SanchamanLimbu Sikkim
Government College, Gyalshing.
During
the meeting, SKM Students Wing treasurer PhurbaTsheringBhutia presented the
annual financial report and budget summary, including a detailed account of
expenditures related to the futsal tournament and other key initiatives. The
transparent financial presentation reflected the wing’s commitment to accountability
and organizational discipline.
The
meeting concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, with the members
reaffirming their commitment to continue working under the visionary leadership
of Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) and to further strengthen the students’ movement
across Sikkim, the SKM Students Wing said.
