Bhasmey FC wins Maghey Sankranti Tiger Five Football Tournament


PAKYONG, : The final of the Maghey Sankranti Tiger Five Football Tournament 2024 was played Thursday here at the Kameray public playground.

The tournament was organised by the Kamerey Youth Club.

In the final match, Bhasmey Football Club defeated Kameray Youth Club 3-0 and emerged victorious. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, a trophy, and the runner-up team received Rs. 20,000 and the trophy.

The tournament, which started on January 2, had a total of 32 participating teams.

The Kameray public playground land donors, Gyan Bahadur Rai and Santosh Rai, along with the tournament’s trophy sponsor, Sanjay Rai, were felicitated on the occasion.

Kamerey Youth Club president Sukumar Rai informed that in order to encourage the youngsters of the village, the playground has been constructed, and for the first time, the Tiger Five Football Tournament has been organised this year. The youths are planning to extend the playground and organise even bigger sports events in the coming days, he added.

The playground has been constructed with the support of generous donors and individuals.

Pakyong zilla up-adhakshya Prabha Pradhan, who was the chief guest for the final, appreciated the organising committee for organising a football tournament to encourage youngsters in sports. She assured to support the club on a personal level as well as from the government side.
