GANGTOK,: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista on Monday joined BJP national president Nitin
Nabin for an interactive session with the prominent Gorkha citizens in
Siliguri, Darjeeling.
“On
behalf of Darjeeling hills, Terai, and Dooars residents, we warmly welcomed him
on his first visit to North Bengal since assuming office in January. Having
earlier served as BJP in-charge for Sikkim, he is familiar with our region's
strategic importance, and understands our social-political issues,” said the
Darjeeling MP.
In an
open discussion, Nabin laid out BJPs future plans and objectives, and
categorically stated BJP commitment to ensuring justice for the Gorkhas and the
people of the region. He said that, "our commitment to justice for the
Gorkha community and the people of Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars is not
dependent on political gain."
I am
most grateful to all those who attended today, and extend my heartfelt
gratitude to BJP national president Nitin Nabin for such an insightful, frank
and honest discussion of critical issues
concerning our region and people, said Bista in a media statement.
