CM flags off new emergency response fleet

GANGTOK,: Boosting the State’s emergency response capabilities, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Monday flagged off a fleet of 14 Mini Water Tenders and nine Quick Response Bikes from Chintan Bhawan here.

The newly inducted vehicles are aimed at strengthening preparedness and enhancing the speed, precision, and efficiency of responses to fire incidents and other unforeseen emergencies. Designed for agility and rapid deployment, the Mini Water Tenders and Quick Response Bikes will enable emergency personnel to reach affected areas swiftly, particularly in congested and hard-to-access locations, informs a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office.

The Chief Minister stated that this augmentation of infrastructure will play a crucial role in ensuring timely intervention, thereby minimizing damage and safeguarding lives. The initiative reflects the government’s continued focus on modernising emergency services and improving resilience across the State, he added.

Such progressive measures, the Chief Minister noted, reaffirm the administration’s unwavering commitment to public safety and to building a more robust, responsive, and people-centric emergency management system, the release mentions.
