Frequent power cuts in Rumtek hampering daily lives

Dear Editor,

I am writing to draw attention to the serious issue of frequent power cuts plaguing the Rumtek area. These persistent interruptions in electricity supply are causing significant hardship to local residents and businesses alike.

The constant power outages not only disrupt daily life but also pose a real threat to our electronic devices. Many residents have reported damage to appliances and equipment due to sudden power surges when electricity is restored. This financial burden on the community is unacceptable and entirely preventable.

It is evident that the Power Department has failed in its duty to provide reliable electricity to our area. Their inability to maintain a stable power supply or address the root causes of these frequent outages demonstrates a lack of planning and proper infrastructure management.

We urge the Power Department to take immediate action to rectify this situation. This should include:

1. Conducting a thorough assessment of the power infrastructure in Rumtek

2. Implementing necessary upgrades to prevent future outages

3. Providing a clear timeline for improvements

4. Establishing a responsive customer service system to address residents' concerns

As citizens and taxpayers, we deserve a reliable power supply. The current situation is untenable, and we call on the relevant authorities to address this issue with the urgency it demands.

Yours etc,

Anushka Pradhan
