GANGTOK, : The Eastern Himalaya Travel & Tour Operators Association (EHTTO), the largest travel platform in East & North East India with over 400+ active members from India, Nepal, Bhutan & Bangladesh is hosting the 3rd edition of Khangchendzonga International Tourism Conclave on 12th-13th September 2025 at Hotel La Manila Kanishka, Gangtok.

The conclave will gather 250 plus tourism stakeholders, including 100+ travel agents and stakeholders from Sikkim with free registration offered to all Sikkim participants.

Delegates from Nepal, Bhutan & Bangladesh will also join the event, which will focus on Rural & Community Tourism and highlight emerging destinations in South & West.

Sikkim is an integral part of the Eastern Himalaya Tourism Circuit and a state with immense untapped potential in Rural & Community Tourism. With hidden villages, rich culture, and pristine landscapes, Sikkim offers the perfect platform to showcase immersive tourism experiences to both national and international stakeholders. By highlighting new destinations like Soreng, Yangang, Temi, Namthang, and Ravangla, the conclave aims to boost Sikkim on the global tourism map, expressed Tourism additional chief secretary CS Rao.

We felt it was important to create a platform where rural and community tourism gets the highlight, he added.

The inaugural function will be held on September 12, followed by a B2B meet on September 13 exclusively for tour operators to network with national and regional stakeholders. Rural participants from areas like Soreng and Yangyang are expected in good numbers, making this the first such conclave in Sikkim a vibrant platform for future tourism growth, added EHTTO.

Supported by the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department Government of Sikkim, Incredible India, Nepal Tourism Board, Udaan Hotels & Resorts, Tirun Travel Marketing, ADTOI, NATTA and TOAB, the conclave will feature B2B meets, technical sessions, and industry networking, positioning Sikkim as a global tourism hub.
