GANGTOK, : AGT fame, Guns N’ Roses openers, and one of India’s most
internationally visible rock acts, Sikkim’s Girish and The Chronicles (GATC)
are set to bring their explosive live show to Australia and New Zealand this
month, marking the band’s first ever tour of the region.
Having
earned global attention through their appearance on a major international
talent platform and sharing stages with legendary acts including Guns N’ Roses,
Girish and The Chronicles have rapidly emerged as a leading force in modern
hard rock from Asia. Their signature blend of arena-ready hooks, virtuosic
musicianship, and powerhouse vocals has won them fans across continents,
positioning the band as a significant new voice in the global rock landscape.
The
upcoming Australia and New Zealand run represents another major milestone in
the band’s story, as they become the first English-language rock band from
Northeast India to tour the lands Down Under. For audiences in the Southern
Hemisphere, the tour offers a rare opportunity to witness a band that has been
steadily building global momentum through acclaimed releases, high-energy
performances, and international collaborations.
GATC
will start their Down Under tour with a performance at Brisbane on March 19
followed by gigs at Melbourne and Sydney on March 20 and 21 respectively. They
visit New Zealand on March 22 and are set to play at Auckland the same day. On
March 28, the band is performing at Perth.
GATC
are no strangers to touring internationally. Over the years, the band has
performed across multiple countries in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia,
and beyond, appearing at major festivals and iconic venues while steadily
expanding their international audience. They have shared festival bills and
stages with some of the biggest names in rock, including Guns N’ Roses,
Nazareth, Skid Row, Alter Bridge, and more, further cementing their credibility
within the global rock circuit.
Frontman
Girish Pradhan has also gained international recognition through collaborations
with legendary rock and metal musicians such as Chris Adler (Lamb of God,
Megadeth), George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob), and Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake,
Trans-Siberian Orchestra), among others. These collaborations have helped
position him as one of the few Indian rock vocalists to work extensively with
globally established artists in the genre.
Quietly
but consistently, GATC have been writing their own chapter in modern rock
history over the years, building momentum through persistence, musicianship,
and an uncompromising commitment to the genre. Their journey from the Himalayan
state of Sikkim to international stages stands as a testament to the universal
power of rock ‘n’ roll, a press release informs.
