GANGTOK,: On the eve of 80th Independence Day, Governor Om Prakash Mathur
today officially launched the ceremonial hat of Sikkim Armed Police (SAP) in a
brief function at Lok Bhavan.
The
Governor handed over the specially designed ceremonial hat to Commandant of SAP
Pangthang, Norbu Tshering Sherpa and other officials in the presence of
Commissioner cum Secretary to Governor, Jitendra Singh Raje.
The
specially designed ceremonial hat is sponsored by the Lok Bhavan Sikkim under
Discretionary Grants of the Governor.
The
new ceremonial hat will be specially worn by the Sikkim Armed Police contingent
participating in the Independence Day Parade at Paljor Stadium here on August
15, a Lok Bhavan press release informs.
Commandant
Norbu Tshering Sherpa expressed his gratitude to the Governor for providing
ceremonial hat to Sikkim Armed Police. He said that new ceremonial hat would
lend a distinctive identity to the SAP Parade contingent at 80th Independence
Day celebration, the release mentions.
