GANGTOK,: The record for being the first convoy of supercars to reach Cho La
Pass in East Sikkim has been set by ‘The Supercar Route’, Mumbai, led by Zain
Nadeem Rais, and has been officially recognised by the India Book of Records.
A
total of 17 supercars embarked on the historic journey on December 12, 2025,
starting from Siliguri to Gangtok, Sikkim. The convoy then proceeded to Nathu La
Pass via the Old Silk Route before successfully reaching Cho La Pass on
December 14, 2025, marking a significant milestone in automotive and adventure
tourism.
“The
record for being the ‘First Convoy of Supercars to reach Cho La Pass’ was set
by the ‘The Supercar Route’ Mumbai, led by Zain Nadeem Rais”, reads the
certificate from India Book of Records issued on November 27, 2025.
The
challenging terrain, extreme weather conditions, and high-altitude environment
made the expedition a remarkable achievement, showcasing not only the
capabilities of high-performance vehicles but also the meticulous planning and
coordination of the team.
The
primary objective of the expedition was to promote Bharat Ran Bhoomi Tourism,
with a focus on visiting India’s defence and historic battlefields. The
initiative aimed to highlight the strategic and historical significance of
these regions while encouraging responsible tourism and national pride.
The
achievement has drawn attention to Sikkim’s potential as a destination for
adventure, automotive, and heritage tourism, particularly along routes that
hold immense historical and strategic importance. The successful completion of
the expedition has added a new chapter to India’s record books and strengthened
efforts to promote tourism in high-altitude frontier regions.
The
Supercar Route- Sikkim Silk Route, held from December 11-14, is produced by
Mumbai-based Entertainment Bay Experiences and led by its founder Zain Rais.
The event was supported by the Black Cat Division under the aegis of the
Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army and the Government of Sikkim.
