GANGTOK,: Institute for Transforming Sikkim (ITS) vice chairman Chandra Prakash
Sharma, along with members Dr. Neeraj Adhikari and James Sharing Lepcha,
conducted an extensive visit to various institutions in Namchi District on
Thursday.
The
team visited the Drug De-Addiction-cum-Rehabilitation Centre, Industrial
Training Institute (ITI) Namchi, and the Biodiversity Park at Kitchudumra.
The
visit aimed to assess the functioning of these institutions, understand the
challenges, and explore feasible solutions through appropriate policy
interventions and institutional support.
During
the visit, the vice chairman and members interacted with stakeholders,
officials, staff and students to gain first hand insights into the prevailing
situation and developmental requirements. The team also reviewed the
infrastructure, ongoing activities, and operational issues of the institutions
and emphasized the need for effective measures to strengthen service delivery
and enhance institutional performance.
The
visit forms part of the institute’s ongoing efforts to engage directly with
institutions and communities to identify ground level challenges and support
the Government’s vision of inclusive and sustainable development in Sikkim.
