Minister leads inter-departmental team to explore tourism & entrepreneurial prospects in Sumin

GANGTOK,: In a bid to scout potential for community tourism and entrepreneurial ventures in Sumin areas of Namcheybong constituency, an inter-departmental recce was conducted under the leadership of minister and area MLA Raju Basnet on Tuesday.

Officials from various departments, zilla and ward panchayats of Sumin along with local community inspected the sites for various potential activities which could enhance potentials for stakeholders of the area, a press release informs.

The daylong recce saw departments exploring opportunities by visiting potential areas. Open discussions on the feasibility of various potential opportunities were discussed by the department and stakeholders post the visit.

The officials from the department have assured to provide a detailed report on the findings by August 20 with the minister urging local communities to give their best to make Sumin a cluster/community model for the rest of the constituency to follow as an example, the release mentions.
