MoS Margherita to visit Pakyong District

PAKYONG,  (IPR): In anticipation of Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles Pabitra Margherita's forthcoming visit to Pakyong, a preparatory meeting was convened at the conference hall of the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong today.

The meeting was chaired by Additional District Collector (ADC) Pakyong, Sangay Gyatso Bhutia, and was attended by Chief Education Officer, Narayan Mishra; deputy director Health and Family Welfare department, Gyanendra Karki; deputy director Agriculture Department, Rebecca Gurung; deputy director Horticulture department, Hissey C Bhutia; divisional engineer Social Welfare department, Madan Sharma; assistant engineer Education department, Subash Tewari; Agriculture Development Officer, Gagan Gurung along with representatives from Building and Housing department, Pakyong district.

During the meeting, the ADC Pakyong briefed the attendees on the purpose of the visit and outlined the detailed tour programme. He stated that the MoS will review the implementation of various programmes and policies of Central Ministries, departments, and organisations in the district.

He further informed that the MoS will visit sites of ongoing and newly completed centrally sponsored schemes and sought suggestions from departments to enhance the tour programme.

Officials were directed to coordinate within their departments and prepare PowerPoint presentations on ongoing centrally sponsored schemes in the district outlining project progress, challenges, and outcomes.

It was advised that presentations from the engineering cell be delivered on site.

In addition, he instructed all the concerned departments to submit their presentations prior to the meeting and ensure full cooperation for the successful conduct of the MoS visit.

Several departments proposed locations and projects to be included in the tour itinerary, with key sites identified under the Education department, Health and Family Welfare department, Social Welfare department, and Women, Child, Senior Citizen, and Persons with Disabilities Welfare department.
