Officials inspect site for rehabilitation of flash flood-affected residents

MANGAN, (IPR): A joint inspection and survey of land for the rehabilitation of public of Toong, Rel and Naga ward was carried out today.

The inspection team led by Chungthang SDM Arun Chettri comprised of Mangan BDO Kailash Thapa, Chungthang revenue officer Kessang Rinzing Lepcha, senior geologist at Mines & Geology department Passang Sherpa, former Social Welfare Commission chairman Nim Tshering Lepcha, Toong Naga zilla panchayat Diki Lhamu Lepcha, ward panchayats of Toong, Rel and Naga, officials from concerned line departments and public from three wards.

During the survey, the team extensively inspected the identified lands at Heng and Bojoghari for rehabilitation of residents who have been affected by the flash floods last year and the recent landslides caused by incessant rain in the region.

The Mines & Geology department will shortly submit stability reports of the identified lands to the state government for further process of rehabilitation of public.
