GYALSHING, (IPR): A coordination-cum-preparatory meeting in connection with the
upcoming foundation stone laying ceremony of Ugyan Whoshel Pema Choling Gumpa
at Upper Martam was held on Monday at Sadhbhav Mandap (Community Hall).
The
meeting was chaired by the Area MLA cum Advisor, LN Sharma and was accompanied
by chairman, Sikkim Milk Union, YK Mishra, District Collector-cum-District
Magistrate, Gyalshing, Tenzing D Denzongpa and OSD Education Department Palzor
Bhutia. Officials from various line departments, Zilla and Gram Panchayat
members, members of the Monastery Committee and other concerned representatives
were present.
Addressing
the gathering, LN Sharma informed that Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay)
will grace the foundation stone laying ceremony of the monastery on 11th March.
He further stated that Kyabje Dungzin Garab Rinpoche will bless the ceremony
with his esteemed presence. Emphasizing coordinated efforts, he stated that
with the collective approach of all departments and stakeholders, the programme
can be organised successfully in the best possible manner.
During
the meeting, the MLA announced the formation of the celebration committee and
declared the names of its members. He entrusted the responsibility of
conducting the puja rituals and coordinating matters related to Rinpoche to the
Working Monastery Committee. All concerned departments were apprised of their
respective roles and responsibilities to ensure smooth execution of the
programme. He added that unity and teamwork would create a conducive working
environment, accelerate implementation and ensure timely completion of all
assigned tasks with optimal results.
In
his brief address, the District Collector directed all departments to undertake
their designated responsibilities with utmost seriousness and adhere strictly
to timelines. He urged officials to extend full cooperation and assured every
possible support from the District Administration Gyalshing for the successful
conduct of the ceremony.
Earlier,
Dorjee P Bhutia, assistant engineer, Culture department, presented an overview
of the project. He informed that the project has been sanctioned in the current
financial year, the tendering process has been completed and work has already
commenced.
Following
the meeting, a site visit was conducted, during which necessary arrangements
and preparatory measures were discussed to ensure systematic planning and
smooth execution of the forthcoming foundation stone laying ceremony.
The
meeting concluded with a collective resolve to work in close coordination to
make the event a grand and successful occasion.
