GANGTOK,: The newly elected executive committee of the Press Club of Sikkim (PCS) paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) at Mintokgang on Wednesday.
The PCS delegation was led by its president Samir Hang Limboo.
The Chief Minister expressed his pleasure to meet the newly elected executive body of the Press Club of Sikkim. “The team represents a fine blend of youthful energy, enthusiasm, and experience, which I am confident will further strengthen the role of the Press Club in serving the media fraternity and society at large,” the Chief Minister wrote on Facebook.
During the meeting, the PCS executive committee submitted representations concerning the welfare and development of the Press Club of Sikkim and the interests of its members. The Chief Minister responded positively to the issues raised and assured the delegation of his government's full cooperation and support toward their timely resolution, informs a PCS release.
The Chief Minister also extended his best wishes for the successful celebration of the upcoming PCS Foundation Day, which will take place on July 17.
“I wish the Press Club of Sikkim growth and success in its endeavours, and I look forward to its continued contribution towards promoting responsible journalism and strengthening the media landscape in the State,” the Chief Minister concluded.
