Senior Women’s Football League: First win for Darjeeling XI

GANGTOK: Singling SC cruised to an 8-0 victory over Chujachen Sports Academy on Monday to record their fourth straight win in the ongoing Senior Women’s Football League 2026 at Paljor Stadium.

Simran Gurung, one of Singling SC’s star players, scored four goals, while fellow striker Kiran Pisda registered a hat-trick. Sukriya Mangar added one goal to complete the tally.

Namita Gurung was declared Player of the Match.

With this win, Singling SC sealed their semi-final berth with one game to spare and are now among the title favourites. Chujachen Sports Academy, who had won their three previous matches, have also advanced to the semi-finals despite today’s heavy defeat.

Meanwhile, Darjeeling XI registered their first win of the league, thrashing Northerners FC (Mangan district) 6-0. It was Darjeeling’s first victory in four matches, while Northerners have now lost all four of their outings so far.

Sainami Khawas, Alvin Tamang and Shriya A Limboo scored a brace each for Darjeeling XI. Alvin Tamang was named Player of the Match.

Earlier in the day, Gangtok Himalayan SC defeated Milan More FA (Siliguri) 3-1 through goals by Sanjana Rai, Prinita Rai and Pritika Tamang. Pramila Chettri from the winning side was declared Player of the Match.

Gangtok Himalayan SC now have nine points from four games and have also progressed to the semi-final round.

The league is organised by Sikkim Football Association with Generali Central Insurance Company as the title sponsor.
