Sikkim karateka Muskan Tamang clinches bronze medal at 69th National School Games

GANGTOK, :Muskan Tamang, a rising national karate talent from Sikkim, has secured the bronze medal in the 46 kg weight category (Under-14 Girls) at the prestigious 69th National School Games, held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from December 14 to.

The achievement marks Sikkim’s first medal across all disciplines in this edition of the School Games, informs a press release today.

The Sikkim State Karate-Do Association (SSKDA) has thanked the Sports & Youth Affairs department for the grand welcome extended to the karatekas upon their return.

The association have also extended their gratitude to Sports & Youth Affairs director Dr. R.B. Biswakarma, joint director Jikmee Bhutia, athletics coach R.B. Subba,boxing coach Anoj Pradhan, taekwondo coach Bijoy Gurung, and SSKDA joint secretary Binam Gurung for continuous support.

The hardwork and support of nodal officer PuranSubba, team coach Hem Kumari Rai, and team manager Prosenjit Chakraborty were also acknowledged, the release mentions.
