GANGTOK,: Sikkim has qualified in style for the next round of the 29th Senior
Women’s National Football Championship for Rajmata Jijabai 2024-25 being played
at Agartala.
Sikkim finished
with an all-win record in the four-team group scoring 17 goals to top its
group.
In their final
group stage match on Thursday, Sikkim triumphed over Chandigarh with a
resounding 7-0 victory. Samajan Rai and Suju Hangma Limboo scored a brace each.
Priya Chettri, Simran Gurung, and Ongden Lepcha added one goal each. This
dominant performance secured their spot in the next stage of the championship,
informed the Sikkim Football Association.
Simran Gurung
was the star player in the group round by scoring nine goals in three games.
