Sikkim register third consecutive win in Senior Women’s One Day Trophy

GANGTOK, :Sikkim secured third straight victory in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy (Plate) by defeating Nagaland by eight wickets in Bhubaneswar today.

Chasing a target of 149, Sikkim’s innings was anchored by half-centuries from Pretika Chettri (69 not out) and Dipa Das (57 not out), who added an unbeaten 122-run partnership for the third wicket after the team had slumped to 30 for 2, guiding Sikkim to a comfortable win.

Earlier, Sikkim bowlers restricted Nagaland to 148 all out in 49.1 overs. Seventeen-year-old Diksha Chettri led the attack with figures of 3 for 29. Captain Sarika Koli and Primula Chettri took two wickets each, while Mariam Subba and Tabita Subba chipped in with one wicket apiece.

The win puts Sikkim in second place on the points table, level on points with leaders Bihar but behind on net run rate. With three wins from three matches in the five-match league stage, Sikkim is well-positioned for a spot in the final.
