Sikkim to host national bodybuilding championship

GANGTOK,: Indian Body Building Federation (IBBF), in association with Body Builders Association of Sikkim, is all set to organise the 11th Federation Cup National Championship 2022 in March 2022 at Manan Kendra, Gangtok. The championship is for men and women body building and physique sports.
Addressing a media conference here in the capital on Tuesday, Body Builders Association of Sikkim (BBAS) president Kala Rai said World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports general secretary Chetan M. Pathare and IBBF general secretary Hiral Seth are in the State to inspect the preparations.
“It is a privilege and honour for the State to host the 11th Federation Cup 2022 as it is for the first time that the State is hosting such a prestigious event. We have been putting in all efforts in making this event a huge success in all aspects,” said Rai.
Pathare said, “We are really happy with the preparation of the BBAS for the championship and we are hopeful the participating bodybuilders from across nation will cherish their stay in the State.” He mentioned that North East region has been producing top bodybuilders since long. Sikkim has also given the federation a lot of bodybuilders lately and they have also shined along with bringing laurels to this sport, he added.
Hiral Seth informed that the Federation Cup will have events in senior men's bodybuilding, senior women's bodybuilding, and men's and women's physique sports.
We are expecting around 350 participants from different States, Union Territories and government sport boards along with 70-80 officials, said the federation.
